Richard, Rachel, and Mesean make up the small but mighty team that leads food service for the homeless community every Sunday in downtown San Diego.
Rachel Hayes
Rachel was homeless for over 11 years before receiving permanent supportive housing through Alpha Project, a local nonprofit. Since becoming housed, Rachel has remained committed to advocating for the homeless community through city council meetings, news appearances, and her work here at Unhoused United.
Mesean Sadri
Mesean started Unhoused United out of a passion for housing rights, inspiration from similar nonprofits, and experience working on tenants’ rights issues in San Francisco. Looking to give back to his San Diego community, Mesean started the organization using social media livestreams to fundraise money and item donations.
